I pick up the kids from Sam’s house, he’s been pretty reasonable the last couple of weeks and although I’m suspicious, I’m hopeful things have finally settled down. I’m excited to see the kids – I’ve planned a great day for us all – movies, pizza and lots of cuddles.

Sam lets me in – he’s just finishing sorting the kids out. It feels strange to be back here, then I notice I can’t hear the kids.

In the lounge all the kids are lying on the couch, arms wrapped around each other – they look asleep, but I know they’re not. I turn to Sam and gasp in horror as I see the rifle in his hands.

“Stupid bitch” he snarls “did you really think I’d let you take my kids from me?” I hear a gun shot and my last thought is of my beautiful babies.
