Lana

I’m thankful I’m here and this time I decide to stay in refuge and NEVER go back.

Kai will never change and I deserve better – I’m trying to convince myself of this by remembering what Rose told me and how the police helped me to get here.

I enjoy going to counselling and the women’s groups; I finally feel like I’m moving forward and taking control of my life.

A new woman moves into the refuge; she’s rude and starts to spread rumours about me to the other women. I try and ignore her, but when she calls me an abusive name, I can’t let it go. I demand she takes it back; I push her and tell her not to mess with me again.
